WELCOME TO

TURNER & POOCH

We are a family-owned pet service business, serving Darien, Rowayton, Norwalk, Wilton, and Westport with our crew of professional caregivers. Our culture is focused on nurturing the bond between dogs and humans. We are passionate about building relationships with our canine pals, while paying close attention to their needs and following the guidelines set in place by their owners. We are constantly seeking to improve our knowledge of canine behavior and handling to provide the best services for each of our clients. Growing with our pups is our speciality. Whether it is a puppy or a new rescue, we thrive in helping build structure and consistency for our dogs, so the families who love them most see the difference in their pup’s lives by way of our services.

Our Services

  • Dog Walking

The relationship starts here. Our walkers build a bond with each one of our pups through one-on-one walks prior to introducing them to another dog. You will never see us walking a large “pack” of dogs, because we believe in the importance of stopping to smell the roses.

  • Play Groups

Our groups are carefully created to complement the temperament and activity level of each dog. We may bring pups to a fur-friend’s backyard, a quiet dog park, or even the beach during the off-season.

  • Hiking

A tired dog is a happy dog! For the highly active pups, hitting the trails is the best way to burn excess energy. We like the paths less traveled, and so do our dogs.

  • Boarding

Dogs need a vacation too! Don’t worry, whatever rules you have at your house, we honor at Turner’s. We require a meet and greet for every new client prior to booking your stay.

  • Sitting

Sometimes our pups don’t want to leave the comfort of their own home. We get it, and we got you covered! Contact us so we can schedule a meet and greet to go over your plans.

  • Day Care

Starting at four hours a day and running as long as eight hours, we offer day care at Turner’s where pups may enjoy a park visit, a beach day, or just a lot of socializing.

“The Turner & Pooch team are amazing! They have been walking my 1-year-old Boykin Spaniel 6x a week, for over nine months now, and I can’t recommend them enough. Prior to finding them, I went through about five dog walkers in a month. I found that a lot of dog walkers in the CT area do it as a side gig and therefore weren’t always reliable given their competing priorities. Well, this is not the case with Turner & Pooch. They are proactive, reliable, and trustworthy. Oftentimes, instead of just walking, they will bring over a compatible puppy playmate, so Rudder gets both exercise and socialization. Emily offers dog-sitting services in her house which I have utilized several times, as I’d much rather have Rudder in a home with a family vs. in a kennel. Emily is also super knowledgeable about dog behavior/training and has been a great resource for me as this is my first dog.

I really could go on and on. I count her as a friend now and oftentimes find myself texting her “pupdates” as I know she genuinely cares about Rudder. Like I said, I can’t recommend her and her team enough.”

What’s the bark around town?

“I have 2 senior dogs, 15 year old lab and a 13 year old corgi. The corgi has to be carried and uses wheels. Emily is kind and understanding in dealing with ‘seniors.’ Plus the dogs love her care as much as I do.”

“The wonderful Turner and Pooch team have been walking and caring for Ginger since 2021. They are incredibly professional and beyond caring! Ginger just lights up when they come fetch her! They are prompt, polite, flexible - and best of all they love and care for Ginger as much as we do! We joke that Turner and Pooch is our dog’s other family!

- Ellen (Darien)

“Emily at Turner and Pooch has been watching my dogs for the last two years when my family is away on vacations. I feel lucky to have found her. Emily is responsive, flexible, has positive energy and is easy to work with. The best part is both my dogs LOVE Emily! I have a pug, who just wants to hang and cuddle, and a lab that requires more physical activity. When Emily comes to pick them up, they run to her car and are frantically trying to jump in. My pug has health issues, and Emily gives him all the medication based on the schedule I provide and keeps me informed if he isn't feeling well so I can relay to her what other medication to give him. I highly recommend using her for vacations or even walks."
